Day 3 London Fashion Week- Acne

As one of my favourite brands, and as a fan of all things Scandinavian, I was very much looking forward to the Acne show, and it didn't disappoint. This collection was all about shaping and contouring the body, with thick waisted belts- part corset, part kimono- and bulbous jackets paired with tight pencil skirts or utilitarian leggings. The colour palette was rich and striking, with vivid tangerines, mustard yellows, ivy-greens and all the while softened by classic Acne oatmeals and dove greys.

Acne Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

For the Acne Pre-Fall 2012 Collection, Jonny Johansson has designed a collection inspired by the 1990's "TV Generation", who grew up surrounded by MTV music videos. Cue metal chains and shiny silver jackets, sheer textures against leather and tweed, and androgynous knee length coats paired with short mini skirts.

Acne's Capsule Collection with Daniel Silver

Launched on October 11th, last week, Acne's collaboration with the London-based artist Daniel Silver, has created a capsule collection of dresses, shirts, trousers and skirts, all brought together with a mood of fun and freedom. The collection will be sold exclusively at the Acne Studios store in London (13 Dover Street), and the items have inspired the new look of Acne's website: AcneStudios.com. Daniel Silver described the process of pairing of art and fashion in an interview for Dazed Digital; "For the Acne collaboration, the fabrics came from shops around my studio in Dalston and samples that Acne sent me which I worked on like a collage, cutting and gluing, layering over and over until something came up which made sense to me."
