Commes des Garcons- Paris Fashion Week AW'11

A game of disintegration and patchwork were key to Commes des Garcons's collection this week. Jackets, shirts, shorts and dresses seemed to be ripped apart and placed back to front, upside down and mixed together. The clothes somehow played a trick on the viewer, looking like a dark coat from the front, but revealing a chiffon back or a leg from a pair of shorts stitched to part of a skirt. Models also displayed golden encrusted and shiny weaved hair, which looked like bright, gilded headdresses and gem-like helmets.

The ruched and twisted fabric of Commes des Garcons's jackets remind me dye, rinse and dry long yards of fabric in India.
