Fendi- Milan Fashion Week AW'11

Karl Lagerfield and Sylvia Venturini, came together this season with a collection that was inspired by collage and the work of artist Kurt Schwitters. There were roomy, boxy jackets, placed with mustard coloured tights and boiled patchwork-pocketed wool skirts. The clothes showed a spectrum of autumnal colours, with navys, browns and coppers, which perfectly reflected the vintage brown paper of Schwitters's collages. These were interjected with bright red tights and azure blue handbags, inspired by the odd interspersed colour of his artwork. The clothes remained playful, with undulating curves to collars and fur jackets, stopping the curves from looking to countryfied in their colour and aesthetic. I personally loved the boxy jackets, which had subtleties in stripes of colour or button holes.
