Marc by Marc Jacobs A/W 2012 New York Fashion Week

The Marc by Marc Jacobs collection for A/W 2012 had a minimal feeling, from the plain varnished wood catwalk, to the model's slicked-back side partings, and the streamlined silhouettes of the dresses. This season the design team were inspired by the 1980 Moscow Olympics and Russian Constructivism. This has resulted in a highly covetable collection, I particularly love the mixture of little-girl dresses with chunky grey socks and biker boots.

Rodarte A/W 2012 New York Fashion Week

Sister act Rodarte have created a beautifully vintage and ethereal collection inspired by the country Australia; from aboriginal hand paintings finding their way onto floaty dresses, to the burnt umber palette inspired by the dusty outback.

3.1 Phillip Lim A/W 2012 New York Fashion Week

Beautifully tailored black and white suiting consisting of tapered trousers and loose blazers, oversized sweaters with echoes of houndstooth patterns, and towards the end, autumnal colours of ivy green and rusty tangerine.
