Happy Birthday Kate Moss

I've loved Kate Moss ever since I saw a Mario Testino exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London and saw her face up close, slathered in turquoise paint looking straight into the camera's lens. This Christmas, my obsession continued when I was given a lovely coffee table book of beautiful Kate Moss images at Christmas. The book's published by Rizzoli and the images have been collated by Jess Hallett and Jefferson Hack. My favourite images of her are when she is at her most natural and caught slightly off guard. Today also marks her 39th birthday, so here's a selection of images to celebrate.

Style Crush... Clara Paget

Model and actress Clara Paget, started her career when she was spotted at a party dressed as Marlene Dietrich. She has since gone on to star in the film St Trinian's and was the face of Jigsaw's recent ad campaign. She can often be found on the pages of Vogue, amongst the People & Parties or in the Street Style.

Jean Shrimpton, New York 1962 by David Bailey

Have you seen the latest BBC drama, "We'll Take Manhattan", which explores the love affair between fashion photographer and artist David Bailey and his muse Jean Shrimpton? Starring Aneurin Barnard as Bailey and Karen Gillan as Shrimpton, the BBC4 programme is set within a prestigious fashion shoot for Vogue magazine in the early 60's. Although I recommend watching the dramatisation, it is the original photographs from 1962 that are worth looking at, as reproduced below.

Style Crush... Audrey Marnay

French actress and model, Audrey Marnay, is the subject of some of my favourite Tim Walker photographs; featured in Mechanical Dolls and O'2nd's Fall 2011 Campaign. Film titles include 'Paris' by  Cedric Klapish and 'My Best Friend' by Patrice Leconte, whilst modelling pursuits include walking for Chanel and Anna Sui shows.

Style Crush... Lea Seydoux

The enigmatic French model and actress Lea Seydoux, recognisable as 'that girl' from Midnight In Paris, is slowly coming into our radar. You may also be familiar with her from the Prada Candy perfume campaign. Or perhaps on the back pages of Vogue UK in this month's style file. In any case, it's worth keeping an eye out for her in 2012, even if she does favour Scandinavian Acne jeans over her native A.P.C.
